In the Aroma of Rivers
A poem by- MC(Aurora) and R.J.Calzonetti
"Two heads, one poem!"
From the heights of Himalayan crown,
The pure, clear crystals it's melting down.
Cutting through the rough icy edges,
Clashing and cutting though the rocks it surges.
Running straight, sometimes curving around,
Through the valley and plains, its rushes down.
In a hurry to clench the thirst
Of thirsty fields and drying crust.
Like a mother nourishes her child,
It's urges to nourish the poor farmer's rice field.
An epitome of purity and clean,
It's a the river I have seen
.-MC
A grace of shimmering lakes I've seen
A place of dreams, a state of being
Flora green, among the massive trees
A current, a breeze, a cloud, fall leaves
The water cleaves the land in two
A beautiful view, Eden greets the twilight moon
Shining down on prosperity
A god, a bride to marry me
A movement, to sea, I've found, my peace
And expose me to the world, through clean waters rose
The flowing explosion cures my mind
The stars, the land, the water aligned.
-RJ
"The St. Lawrence flourishes nourishments.
The Bhagirathi of purity, and God's cherishment.
A sign of life on this beautiful land."
As the day ends to rest,
The sun paints beautiful orange of sunset.
Hundreds of tiny scattered lights floating on its lively waves,
Holy crowd of devotees singing prayers and worships
The kindness of Bishwanath
On the pavitra Bhagirathi's ghat.
The glaciers running down in rush,
Washing the holy plane of Banaras.
I wish I was one of the fishes,
Dancing in and out of it's splashes.
My last breath should be in her laps of purity,
And submerge in her eternal beauty.
-MC
Let the varicose flow leave me behind
And lead me to a peaceful mind.
A waterfall that chills the spine, alive with gravity,
Crushed under the thunder of Niagara Falls, The fallen sanity .
The weight of hatred fades away,
In the rainbow, or a summer ray
In the silence, life continues to rendezvous with hope
And grows among the rocks, the river boats
The water talks, of where it's been,
And the rot between the world machine that it has seen,
The river speaks of midnight sheen,
Of cloudy dreams, and blue-skied greens.
-RJ
"Together filling the hearts with their beauty
Lavish their savagery, beautiful in it's cruelty,
Life and death without
reason."

3 months of continuous work over this poem gives us a great satisfaction over what we have finally done. This was a really serious collaboration ... ! I and Jack have worked over this for last three months and it's finally done. Our discussion started from October last, we set on our works in the November and the last stanza was completed in December and all the editing work ended today!
Theme: The poem is totally based on the real experience with nature, especially Rivers. My part represents the holy river "Ganga" , that was a great contrast with the river "St. Lawrence, Niagara falls" as described by Jack.
Our experience with this poem is really significant. I hope we will keep writing more poems in collaboration because the best is to come yet. I am sure, you are feeling really great Jack, congrats to both of us!
